Students at East High School have always been considered bright, but even more so now that solar energy
is helping to power the historic building in Salt Lake City where they attend classes. The school is
the beneficiary of a 1.7 kW rooftop solar array made possible by a grant from Rocky Mountain Power’s
Blue Sky renewable energy program. Several enthusiastic science teachers helped install the system
over a three day period in the cold January weather while students photographed the construction
progress for the school yearbook. East High is the second public school in Utah to receive a solar PV system!
